How gasoline engines work

The working principle of the gasoline engine is mainly to generate kinetic energy by burning the fuel in the cylinder, driving the piston to reciprocate, and then the power is output through the connecting rod and the crank. Its working process is mainly divided into four strokes:
Suction stroke: The piston moves down, the valve opens, and the outside air enters the cylinder through the intake port.
Compression stroke: The upward movement of the piston compresses the air entering the cylinder while closing the intake valve. Through compression, the volume of air is reduced, and the temperature and pressure are increased, providing conditions for subsequent combustion.
Power stroke (dedetonation stroke) : At the end of compression, the ignition system fires a mixture of gas (a mixture of gasoline and air) injected into the cylinder, and the mixture burns to produce a high-temperature and high-pressure gas that drives the piston downward.
Exhaust stroke: The piston moves upward again, pushing out the exhaust gas that has been burned, opening the exhaust valve, and draining the exhaust gas out of the engine.
